Was walking out of a petrol station yesterday evening and glanced up and saw what I thought was an NSX on the front cover of this mag ... Picked it up and there it was. Article about cars trending upward prices. Flicked to the page were the NSX was featured and basically evo mag said if you know anything about this car your an "NSX bore"

if lazy journalism and not getting facts right about the bloody car in the 1st place did not happen then there may not be this issue ... So effectively anyone on here who has interest in this fine automobile is basically called a bore ... My interpretation of the article.

rant over ;)

btw not sure this article was covered already on this forum ...done a quick scan and did not see it.
the car featured in the ad was a yellow NSX ... Can't remember plate but it was a standard English plate

It's Evo magazine. Did you really expect anything different?

It's like expecting Hello not to be full of utter shi'.

Yeah you are right, not debating that. No, it was more the point regarding NSX bore comment when they do lazy-ass journo research

I think it was sensationalist (deliberately, probably), but the NSX, like a few Japanese performance cars, does have it's share of "passionate" advocates...

...and let's be honest, as a driving experience for most owners, the car isn't significantly different to a Boxster-S (bar sounding a fair bit better and riding a little better) - the benefits of the NSX are rather more cerebral and/or related to the car's provenance. Oh, and being very well engineered and built.

So I'm inclined to forgive them this one...Dickie M admits to having a soft-spot for the car, and he owns one of the best "Driver's Porsches" of all time...

My car was featured in a "future icons" article in the November issue of EVO. In same issue (different article) page 60 they wrote about the yellow NSX, and mine from page 64. IMHO I thought both articles were pretty fair other than the NSX bore comment!

Here's the journo template for the NSX;

1. A brief history of it's routes.
2. F1 and the tenuous Senna thing
3. Bring out the G reg auto.
4. Misquote some performance figures
5. Bitch about the interior
6. Misquote some more
7. Bitch about the steering
8.Marvel at the engine noise
9. Find some cars in the classified
10. Find an independent specialist to quote some inaccuracies
11. Inform readers about other 'better' cars they can buy for the same money.
NB: if you get stuck, cut and paste from an earlier article. It'll be wrong. But wait a minute, haven't you just done that? Remember, better to be consistently wrong than actually check your sources.

Fine thanks - though I did get stopped by the cops (for the first time in this country) for having no front numberplate. The broken bracket and front plate were in the boot, so nothing more than an inconvenience - but I wonder, how do the NSX brethren who happen to not have a front plate, get away with it for so long..?

Just act like it's perfectly normal. If you do get stopped. Argue that it would be a crime to sully such a beautiful car with such an ugly piece of plastic.

Cheers.
