Is there a reason I shouldn't remove my engine cover? Will keep it, but is it supposed to insulate the rear window or anything like that? I might buy one of the wire covers or get mine modified if there isn't a good reason not to.

One person in the states who removed theirs had to then buy the cabin divider, not cheap, Stops anything coming through, from where I don't know.

The mods to put mesh there instead look good though.

took mine out about a month after I bought it (2003) - never been back in

it incentivises you to make that engine sparkle since it is on display

works a treat - forever have people gawping through the glass

I've had mine out for almost a year now. No problems whatsoever, including regular winter driving.

Also, like Darren says, people will be forever gawping at the engine

'it incentivises you to make that engine sparkle since it is on display'

It must have taken hours of elbow grease to acheive these results ... that is one sparkling engine bay, 8)

With an engine bay like that, why would you cover it up?

Excellent, thanx Darren.

Pretty shiny Darren!
I've just started on the engine bay by having my intake cover painted.

Looks like there's going to be a lot of redundant engine covers

Well guys all I can say it thanks a bloody heap.... you have all now buggered up all my free time and days off now COZ I WANT A SHINY ENGINE and by the looks of it I have a lot of catching up to do.
Anyone know where to pick up shiny chrome bits (I do like chrome in an engine bay)

I have found (and lost!) an ad somewhere that will chrome up your alternator... If I find it I'll post it on here.
