Be interesting to see what previous machines people have owned before getting to the NSX..

I won't bother with the boring cars of my teenage years as its far too embarrising

1996 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV
1993 Toyota MR2
1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI
2001 Honda S2000
2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII MR RS

Hi Bazza,

Well here's my iccle list of previous machines; sadly doesn't yet end with the NSX, but it will!

Lotus Sunbeam (showing my age)
Civic 1.5GT (a real fun hatch)
Civic 1.6-16v (needed MUCH better brakes)
CRX Vtec (first forah into the world of Vtec)
ITR DC2 (still smiling after all these years)
Lotus Elise S2 135 (never stopped enjoying this one)
S2000 04 (sadly rolled and lost to Vtec heaven)

Currently in a mile munching diesel but getting my kicks from the VFR whilst looking for my NSX

Regards

Being the deeply sad individual I am I started to document the cars I've owned over the years on an old homepage. The homepage has long since gone, but I do keep the cars bit updated every now and then:

That S2000 is stunning. I too have lost an S2k to Vtec heaven.. a barrier on the A1

CRX is a cracking car. A few mates and I are in the process of building a track car.. Already had buckets and a cage when we bought it.. Its done 107,000 miles and ita 1.6 Vtec [160bhp model].. On the lookout for a B18c from a JDM Teg DC2

I thought the CRX was the quickest real world car cross country until I bought the Elise.

I never tracked any of my cars but did put one of Palmersports ITR's through its paces in Bedford (and have the trophy to prove it).

The S2 was like a grown up Elise and thanx for the compliment.

Sorry to hear about your S2, it sounds as though quite a few of the S2's have bitten their owners hard. All credit to Honda safety that we walk away.

Good luck with the CRX track car!

Yep.. I had driven the car hard a lot of the time but it seems that a bit of rain and 60mph was enough to send the S2 to its grave..

The car was a total mess but I go out ok. Just had a few cuts and bruises.

CRX track car should surprise a few people with a B18c in it

Good luck finding an engine - they are like rocking horse doodie!!!

FYI mate of mine looked into it and could get an S2 engine for roughly the same price - by the sounds of it there are a lot more of them about so it may be worth looking into if it will fit. :P

Well, my list is quite short.

Even though I am 33 I only learnt to drive 4 years ago... and then just realised what I was missing!!

From 2001-2003 Honda CRX
This was parked on my drive and an idiot came skidding across the road in their car and wrote it off.

From 2003-2004 BMW 328 Sport Coupe
I liked the car, but something seemed missing....hmmm, what were they, oh yeah, fun, real speed, real handling, reliability etc

From 2004-2006 Toyota Rav4
Handy doggie-mobile

From 2004 onwards - NSX
Other cars may come and go in the future, but I think I will keep the NSX forever, need I say more. :P

Wow, some very nice cars there! Very jealous 8)

I currently have a Clio 172. I used to have a Mini Cooper and my first car a 1.2 Clio. Not exactly a garage to bowl you over but i still miss my first Clio a lot!

Great list!

Which do you still run?

sportyking
13-03-2006, 08:07 PM
Vauxhall Viva that never turned a wheel on the road when I owned it
Vauxhall Chevette
Mini 1000 with stripes
Suzuki SC1000 Whizz kid (nicknamed the Warthog)
Dolly Sprint that I bought for someone else but ending up using for a bit.
Escort Mk1 1100
Escort Mk1 with 1600 engine conversion and drum brakes
Escort Mk2 1300 Estate (fab fun on roundabouts)
Sierra 2.0 Ghia Auto
Cavalier Hatch 1.6L
Cavalier Mk1
Capri :?
Rover 3 Litre that came with the house when I bought it.
Escort Mk2 1600 Sport rally prepped. (owned 18 years)
Lotus Sunbeam (Owned 14 years ish)
Std spec Escort 1600 Sport
Jelly mould Astra
TR7 Convertible. (Still have this one as a project to keep my dad happy)
Cavalier SRi saloon
Carlton GSi 3000 24v (tried my hand at killer Hi-fi installs with this)
Series one RS Turbo
Granada scorpio Cosworth
Jeep Cherokee Diesel: got BN 4 wife, divorced 6 months later, sold quick
XR3i EFi (Mk4)
LHD XR3i Mk3 with cut down cosworth bodykit fitted. Stunning looks
4x various spec Mk3 Escort 1600s that I can remember
Daimler Sovereign
Isuzu Diesel engined Cavalier
Escort Mk5 1800 Si Ghia (still have as my beater)
Early spec S2000
04 spec S2000
NSX

There is about ten more I can't think of, I worked it out years ago as over forty. I remember one time I was running the Carlton, RS Turbo SRI and one XR3i at the same time and had the Sunbeam, Escort Mk2, TR7 and Rover stored in the garage. Unfortunately the Ex gained custody of the garage so I am now down to the three cars and several motorbikes.

I was a very late developer where Honda are concerned and it is the reliability with performance aspect that keeps me hooked, as I no longer have the time, space or desire to keep rebuilding broken cars. Modding of course is something different :D
