View Full Version : How did we end up with our NSXCB forum names?

I know some of the forum names are self explanatory, but I have an enquiring mind and interested to know!

For an explanation of mine click on this link, I'm a fan of strange humour.

I'm picturing you on a deserted hill in a transit, somewhere in the 80's talking to truckers!

My (forum) nickname was given to me by Tom Russell (the photographer) after changing his worn out prototype brake pads at Donington using just the Honda toolkit (e.g a spanner and a screwdriver!) in the boot of his Prelude!

Well now, Do we all remember the cartoon character Mutley? he was always after medals from Dick Dastardly with the phase " giz a medal giz a medal hehehehe). So, as I am of the uniformed breed myself, I am a bit of a medal hunter too, as I always apply for different Ops so that I can get different medals, hence the lads call me Mutley. (well it looks good on the ol' uniform at weddings!)

Founded by the late Ayrton Senna, 'Senninha' is the cartoon character used to deliver educational messages to the young and often underprivileged of Brazil.
Fully supported by the Senna Institute, the charity run by his sister. :)

With mine I was trying to think of something to do with my constantly breaking cars. Every weekend I seem to be repairing my cars with oil on my hands. When I go to work, I have oil on my hands. It’s a curse and it’s why I bought the NSX, they never break right?
So Oil.
710 is what blonds think the oil filling cap on the engine says, so oil...
I though I would be knee slapping funny and use 710.

Kind of weak, eh?

(BTW, my NSX throw out bearing has gone so I’m back to fixing cars again…there is no hope)

Slieve_Croob

Geographically influenced!!

I live at appox 1000 ft above sea level, the Mountain Range where I live namely " Slieve Croob". Hence little winter driving when the snow & ice is prevalent.

Can't remember why I picked mine, ahve been contemplating starting again with my name in it or asking Kevin if it can be changed!

It's not even an interesting numberplate!!!

Good thread James, I've been wondering about a few of them for ages.

have used this as my name on pretty much all forums etc for over 10 years now.

back in the windows 95 days (and also win98) when I owned a computer shop, the frequency of holding down the ctrl alt & del keys became a bit of a joke to me, and this combined with the nice play on words of incorporating the name 'delboy' of only fools & horses fame just seemed nice

so I became ctrlaltdelboy

around the same time one of my staff (named Matt) became format_c, as this was his stock answer to most customers' problems (LOL), and it also incorporated his real name.

I've often wondered about how naff just M@ is...I think very!

When I first found this site I always read yours as the delboy bit, I guess because I'm such a OFAH fan...good to see that is kind of intentional and not just me being stupid!

I am getting back into my old skool a lot more now and esp like BIG, DRE, PAC, ROOTS, TALIB KWELI, MOS DEF etc. I have been disappointed with the commercial crap that has come out recently but some of MNM's early freestyling on the web is pure genius. Try limewire if you're interested in having a look at what he was all about before he became commercialised!!!

A few years after my divorce, I began to remember what life was like before I signed it away.

I started changing cars like there was no tomorrow, each one getting a bit closer to what I was after and consequently more performance biased.

Even my 8 year old daughter noticed this and one day she sat down and did a wonderful picture (for an 8yo) of my blue S2000 and me saying "all I want is something sporty", which really captured my car buying mood and slightly mysterious frenzy. She also put a title "Sportyking" so in order that I didn't forget the picture, which is now framed, or my fun hunting for the right car, I decided to use the title.

Interesting? dunno

After the Blue S my car buying dropped to one a year, then 18 months, and now the NSX....... Hmmm.

Hi Mr Forum admin, first of all, thanks for administering the site, it's great fun to use, both as a reference and for the debates.
However, It seems to me that you are selling yourself short by not having a special Forum name like the rest of us.
