Hi all,

Just thought I'd share a few NSX related pics on a recent trip to Europe, did 5 countries in 5 days! Some of the driving was a bit tiresome, but most of it was pretty epic :)

Thanks for the comments, I didn't clean it all trip but it had just come out of the bodyshop before I left so that may have something to do with it.

Lankstarr here's the original route I planned on Google http://goo.gl/maps/UE4L0

Which basically consisted of:

4hr trip down to Dover for 2am ferry, to arrive at Calais at 5am
4hr drive through Brussels (and Spa) on the E40 to the Ring (which incidentally was closed off for a Porsche only day so didn't get a chance to do a couple of laps)
A storm down the Autobahns to Locarno in Switzerland which was supposed to only take 7 hours or so, but due to exhaustion from the driving we had a 2hr kip in the services and then got lost and ended up going through Furka Pass (apparently one of the best driving roads in Europe) as dusk set in. This was a beautifully eerie drive and made for a very surreal experience.

The roads here are spectacular, hugging the mountains, passing through small villages in the valley before opening up to great, winding stretches of well kept tarmac. Its not necessarily flat out driving, more enjoying the balance of the car around the bends, feeling the grip and admiring the scenery as it passes by. When it got really twisty though I don't think the NSX suited the road as well. It may just be my lack of experience with the car but I felt it quite large and was conscious of the weight and size of the thing and in my mind I would've preferred my s2000 to (try and) let the back end hang out a bit :)

So due to the detour we arrived at the hotel about midnight, exhausted though I was still smiling! When getting the luggage out of the boot though I noticed it was all pretty hot! I know the exhaust runs directly beneath and the engine is just in front of it but I was surprised by this, I'm not sure if it was just because the boot was packed full but I was a bit worried about the electronic gear I'd put in, anyone else noticed this?

Then after we headed to the Verzasca Dam in Ticino to do a morning of canyoning down Corippo and then the Goldeneye bungy in the afternoon, before a 2-3 hr drive down to Lake Como. We spent a day here and then headed back to Calais through Reims, stopping in Basel for dinner.

All in I think the driving was a lot for just one driver, actually let me clarify - the mundane motorway driving is boring, even the autobahns didn't really excite me, but then we did try to fit a lot in with the time we had.

Tips (if you wanted any):
Don't use the cheaper E10 bio-ethanol fuel in Europe, it screws your oxygen sensor
Petrol is a fair bit cheaper in Switzerland than the rest of Euroland
Buy the Swiss vignette before you hit the border, its cheaper
I love my Sanef-T pager that allows me to just beep through the tolls on the French roads - saves the hassle of digging out Euros each time
Definitely do Furka Pass and Stelvio Pass is the other one that was made famous by Top Gear.

switzerland is fantastic ... the passes are brilliant fun in the NSX

surprised you thought the car was not suited to some of the roads ... i thought it was brilliant round there

Very nice photos! Amazing to see the different color changes/shades that Charlotte Green goes through depending on the light conditions.

I think it was probably because it was my first extended drive in the NSX and so didn't feel as confident 'attacking' the bends as I would have in the s2000...though after this weekend's drive I grew a fair bit more confidence! :)

Great pics on your road trip.

I know the same pancake place, been shut for at least 5 years now! The whole block is being pulled
down & new fancy offices being built!
