Roll up, Roll up! Rather than the usual Chieveley services meeting for a convoy, what about setting off a junction earlier?

Just north of J12 of the M4, there's a huge Sainsbury's that's open at 6am on Saturday. It has a Starbucks if you need coffee, and a petrol station that's going to be a helluva lot cheaper than a Motorway services one. There's a Maccy-Ds too if anyone needs to get brekkie on the way.

So how about it? 7:00am meet and 07:15 prompt depart (it is 10 miles or so further east than Chieveley so we will need to leave a little earlier).

Good call Ewan ... It's where we start the Little chef runs right?

Anyone coming from the east want to meet J28 M25 and take in the tunnels en route :D

And if you're coming from Herts etc, I'm sure we can join up towards Ewan's mtg point

See you all soon

Regards, Paul

A bunch of us (5 or 6 at the last count) are staying at Premier Inn Swindon West the night before so could join you. J12 to J16 (where our PI is) is 41 minutes so we could meet you at J16 at 0800. Castle Combe is a further 30 minutes

Sounds like a plan, Geoff. We could peel off at J16 and pick you up then carry on to J17 and come off there...

Instead of coming off at Junction 18 instead of 17 and meeting up with the Tractor boys from the South West? Its only a few miles more?

Hi all,

Is anyone travelling around the southern half of the M25 this year?
Seems like there is not as many attendees from the coastal side as there have been before!

Can meet at M23 pease pottage services or M25 J8 as we have on previous years if anyone else is passing that way, if not I will meet the rest of you on the M4

Geoff, with the best will in the world, I think it's going to be tough to meet up at J18 - I think we'd best just head straight to the gate (which is nearer 17 anyway) and see you there...

I agree now I have looked at the map. WIll try and get the SW Tractor boys to come along to J17 instead of us going to J18

Gents,

To cover all threads for Japfest
Paul and I will be meeting 5.45am around J28 of M25 and heading northbound ... this should get us to the M4 J12 meeting point for 7ish.

Anyone wishing to join us anywhere on route please let us know and we'll try to co-ordinate rolling meetings along the M25.

regards, Rich

Ian - it won't matter - you'll see the others when you arrive at or before 7am ;-)

We'll be leaving at 7:15am sharp, as we need to hot foot it to J16, pick up the collective from the Swindon Premier Inn, then come off at J17 in time to maybe meet up with another bunch on the southbound A350.

Lights, levels, pressures, new pads (hopefully bed in OK on route) and now the weather turns so I've even cleaned it ...

Off for some shut eye and see you all bright and early ...
