Well I am about to change my daily drive, the "new" car according to friends and those that love me now indicate that I have reached Grand Parent status and retired - can you guess what it is?

(shouldnt be too hard !)

Was going to say CRV, but since its not a Honda, then another compact Japanese 4x4?

AR wins with Whyone (Ian) in close second - yes I have reached the age (it appears) where a Jag is in order - a shiny pre-registered XF Oil burner - the Civic Type R goes in PEx.

I have mixed feelings in parting with the Type R - yes it is tremendous fun and at times i can acheive <16 MPG around town, but on the negative side I have had 4 sets of rear shockers, the rear brake pads and discs were replaced at 22k miles, the fronts at 28k. It shakes you to peices over rough pot holed roads (the NSX is sooo much better !). So after 4 1/2 years its time to say goodbye to the Type R and retire to my Jag. What will I do with only 245BHP ! *grin

If you are still thinking about attending the SSC and have not bought tickets, Club tickets are on Sales until end of May you will need to order them to get your place on the stand

Are the flat cap & slippers standard or Jag. options? ;)

Bit harsh - I wouldn't say the XF is retirement material - autobox aside, it's a genuine contender in that market...and it looks so much better than the old S-Type, esp. the new facelift.

Flat cap and slippers - can't be, Mike's had 'em for years! ;)

I don't think the XF is classed as a old person's car? How old are you ! :D

Shame they don't make the Rover 75 anymore but that is an adequate alternative.
